Rebates for Businesses

InvestSmart with JEA rebates are offered for many types of energy-efficient heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) technologies to reduce your energy use leading to savings on your utility bill for years to come.  

The incentives are for commercial customers who purchase qualifying HVAC equipment. The rebates will help offset your initial cost of the investment. Rebates will be capped up to 90% for Package Terminal Air Conditioners and up to 50% for all other HVAC measures with a buy down to less than one year.

  • To receive a HVAC Equipment Tune-up and Diagnostic Rebate you must submit an HVAC Tune-up Form (PDF) and Rebate Application (PDF). 

InvestSmart with JEA offers rebates for qualifying lighting equipment and energy efficiency improvements which will reduce your energy use for years to come. Lighting often accounts for 40 to 70 percent of a building’s energy use. Improving your facility's lighting is one of the most cost-effective steps that you can take.

To Apply for Lighting Rebates

1. Review the Lighting Equipment Catalog for rebate details and eligibility.

2. Send an email to investsmart@jea.com to request a lighting workbook prior to installation.
3. Choose a contractor to complete your efficiency upgrade. We recommend that you select one of our pre-qualified InvestSmart with JEA trade allies and get 2-3 quotes before making your selection.

4. Submit post-installation lighting workbook and required documents to jeaefficiencyrebates@nexant.com.

Examples of Qualifying Upgrades

• T12 to T8/T5 lamp retrofits and LED fixtures
• Premium efficiency electronic lighting ballasts
• Ceramic metal halide lamp
• Incandescent to hardwired compact fluorescent

Investsmart with JEA rebates are available for high efficiency measures that can keep your refrigeration equipment operating more efficiently. Inspecting and maintaining your existing equipment, replacing worn door gaskets and strip curtains, installing an auto door closer on your walk-in cooler/freezer or installing EC motors can generate big savings and reduce energy waste. Other refrigeration measure rebates are available as listed in the Refrigeration Solutions Equipment Catalog. 

The incentives are available for commercial customers who purchase qualifying refrigeration technologies, helping to offset your initial cost of the investment. Rebates may be capped at 90% for gaskets and door closers only with a buy down to less than one year.

InvestSmart with JEA offers rebates for the installation of qualifying reflective window films and cool roofs that will reduce your energy use leading to savings on your utility bill. Weatherization is one of the most cost-effective ways to make a business more energy-efficient. Reflective window film can reduce solar heat gain and increase solar reflectance which will provide the same comfort levels with less energy usage. A reflective “cool roof” can greatly reduce the undesirable solar heating of a building. Installing an ENERGY STAR® reflective cool roof reduces hot weather cooling needs saving air conditioning energy costs and improving comfort.

The incentives are available for commercial customers and are designed to help offset the initial cost for businesses who invest in energy efficiency upgrades. Window film projects will be capped at $1,000 per project and cool roof projects will be capped at $5,000 per project.

Examples of Qualifying Upgrades

• Installation of Reflective Window Film with a Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) of .39 or less
• Installation must cover the entire roof area in spaces with mechanical cooling and/or heating

InvestSmart with JEA rebates are available for upgrading to more energy efficient water heating equipment. Energy-efficient water heating lowers your overhead by decreasing energy costs while increasing reliability. High-efficiency water heaters use 10 to 50 percent less energy than standard models.

The incentives are available for commercial customers who purchase qualifying water heating equipment. The rebates will help offset your initial cost of the investment. Rebates will be capped at 50% net customer cost and a possible rebate buy-down to a simple payback of no less than 1 year.
