Off-Peak Charging Incentives

JEA wants to reward you for charging your EV during off-peak hours, at night! An Off-Peak Charging Incentive of $7/month is available to any residential JEA customer who drives an EV, has access to a Level 2 charger overnight, and is enrolled with either Home Electric Meter or EV Telematics.

Incentive Requirements

• The vehicle identification number (VIN) and JEA Electric Account number are required to register for the program. 
• Home address of the Level 2 charger that is used by the applicant is required. 
• Applicant must submit a screenshot or picture of off-peak (10 p.m. - 6 a.m.) charging settings from the vehicle or charger. 
• Enrolled participants agree to charge during off-peak hours. Charging on-peak may result in forfeited incentive payment. 
• Off-peak incentives are paid quarterly by the program administrator via choice of PayPal, Venmo or paper check. Choose PayPal or Venmo for faster payments.

Enrollment Options

Electrical Upgrade Rebate

JEA offers a 15% rebate (up to $300 per account) toward the cost of wiring upgrades required for EV charging.  These rebates typically arrive 6-8 weeks after approval.

Electrical Upgrade Rebate Eligibility Requirements:

• Applicant must be a JEA Residential Electric customer.
• All rebated work must be completed by a licensed electrician.
• Rebate applications must be received within 60 days of  work being completed.
• Enrollment in JEA’s Off-Peak Charging Program is required of each rebate recipient.
• A fully itemized invoice of work performed by your contractor must be received  for the application to be complete.
• Photos of the work completed are required for the application to be complete.

Eligible Types of Work:

• Service panel upgrades
• Installation of sub-panels
• Installation of 240-volt circuit (including breaker, wiring and/or outlet
• Any other electrical upgrade work directly related to, and required for, installation of Level 2 EV Charger or a 240 V outlet for EV charging.

Ineligible Work:

• EV charger and charging hardware
• Work not directly related to EV charger infrastructure
• Ancillary equipment for V2H, V2L, or V2G energy transfer

Federal Incentives

State of Florida Incentives

At this time, Florida does not offer any incentives for the purchases of EVs or EV charging stations.

Funding approved under the Federal Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) for electrification, including wiring upgrades has been delegated to the State of Florida for disbursement to Florida residents.   No information is currently available from the State of Florida about when those incentives will become available.
